Configure the Search Settings.
1. From the CA home page , Under System Settings Click on , Click on Manage Services On the Server.
2. Find SharePoint Foundation Help Search and SharePoint Server Search Services Make Start.

3. Now Click on General Application Settings, Under Search, Click on Farm Search Administration.
4. Under Search Service Applications, Click on Search Service Application.
5. In the Quick Launch, Under Crawling, Click on Content Sources.
NOTE: by default one content source available in 'Content Sources' i.e Local SharePoint sites. Whenever we create new web application that will automatically add to this content source.
6. If you want to create a new content, click on New Content Source.
7. In the new window enter the details
Enter the name
Select SharePoint Sites Options
Start Address Ex: http://madan:9191 etc.
Crawl setting, Select Crawl everything under the hostname for each start address.
Crawl schedulers, set full / incremental
Content source priority (Normal / High)
Start full crawl, Select start full crawl content source.
Click on Ok.
It will start full crawl. After completion of the crawl.
In the quick launch, Under Queries and Result
Click on Scopes, New Scope
Enter the Scope Title, Description and click on OK.
8. After creating the scope, click on Add rule
Wait some time, Click on Refresh, Update status is changed to Ready.
Now From Central Administration goes to your SharePoint site 9191. From Home page, Click on Site Actions à Site Settings à Site Collection Administration, Click on Search Scopes.
Click on Display Group
Click on Ok.
Now select the , Advanced Search , Click on Edit Display Group
Click Ok, Now Search is ready.
Go to the home page and perform the search.
